The Borealis Koi is part of the freeride/powder snowboards family, easy to identify with their very directional shapes, tapered toward the tail, and in this case ending in a beautiful fish tail. Nothing in common with a freestyle-oriented snowboard, this model is made to munch through pow and trace lines. The setback foot stance improves control, allows to easily initiate turns, while providing natural nose lift as the weight is relocated toward the tail. The classic camber offers the required grip for hardpack or to carve on groomers. The front and back rockers soften the edge to edge transitions and smoothen the turns in pow. Finally, the lightweight wood core, glass fibre and carbon reinforcements provide a very good power/weight ratio, enabling secure edge hold, rebound and stability, while keeping the board light and not too demanding physically.
